Active Ants E-commerce Logistics acquires MCS Fulfilment9 October 2019
Active Ants from Nieuwegein acquires MCS Fulfilment and increases its market share in The Netherlands. The acquisition is effective since the 1st of October 2019, where Active Ants has taken over all MCS’ 100 employees, 3 warehouses and 60 customers.
In 2018 Active Ants found strategic investor bpost to accelerate growth. This acquisition supports this strategy.
All MCS customers, orders, company culture and employees have a perfect match with Active Ants, says Jeroen Dekker, Managing Partner from Active Ants. “We expect a smooth integration and to see benefits from combining strengths soon.”
For MCS this acquisition has been part of the company’s strategy for some time. “Healthy growth and profits, then find a bigger suitable partner for further expansion, says Jeroen Reedijk, Managing Partner from MCS Fulfilment. The next step for MCS was more automatization and higher efficiency. Active Ants is a leader in this field. We see a very bright future for this company”. Jeroen Reedijk and his business partner Guus Munnik will continue to work as directors for Active Ants.
MCS Fulfilment originally started in Rucphen in 2009, but their growth was extraordinary and they soon had to move to a much bigger facility in Etten Leur. This is where they offered a variety of e-fulfilment services to small and medium size e-commerce customers. MCS has a great reputation in The Netherlands and abroad and offers competitive pricing. There are around 100 employees working for MCS and approximately 250 employees at Active Ants.
